About Shipland
I started Shipland in 2015 with a simple goal: to make the archipelago accessible. On my tours, I want to show you my Åland and what makes it special – not only the history, but also life in the archipelago today, just as it is.
Something unique every time
Every trip becomes a little different. The weather, the season, the places we visit and the guests all shape the experience. I adapt my tours to the conditions of the day and to my guests, always with safety first.
I want a tour to feel relaxed and personal. There is no fixed pace to keep up with. If someone needs more time getting ashore or exploring an island, we take that time. I am there to guide and share what I know, but also to experience the day together with my guests.
The Åland archipelago has its own character, shaped through history by nature and the people who have lived and worked here. My job is to open the door to it. If, at the end of the day, my guests feel they have experienced something different and unique – something that stays with them – then I have achieved what I set out to do.
Lisa Marie
Lisa Marie is a purpose-built Alukin 750 DPW aluminium boat, designed for practical use in the archipelago. The bow door provides easy access on and off the boat, makes boarding easier for guests with limited mobility, and allows bicycles and other equipment to be brought on board.
The heated cabin, shock-mitigating seats and open deck provide a comfortable and practical setup for both tours and other assignments. With a 250 hp outboard, Lisa Marie has a normal cruising speed of around 27–30 knots. Her size and shallow draft make it possible to reach places that would be difficult with a larger boat.
Lisa Marie is approved for seven passengers in addition to me as skipper.
