Can I book a tour if I’m travelling alone?
Yes. Ready To Go tours can be booked for one person, and you are equally welcome to book a Private Tour on your own.

What is the difference between Ready To Go and Private Tours?
Ready To Go tours have scheduled departures and can be booked online by the seat. A Private Tour is booked exclusively for you and can be tailored to your plans and interests.

Can I book a Ready To Go tour as a Private Tour?
Yes. Any of the Ready To Go tours can also be booked as a Private Tour, with the possibility to adjust the departure time, duration and itinerary.

How do I book a Private Tour?
Contact me directly with your plans and preferred date. We can then plan the tour together based on what you would like to experience.

What if we are more than seven people?
My boat can accommodate up to seven passengers. For larger groups, I can arrange additional boats through my network of local operators.

Do the tours operate year-round?
Yes. Tours are available throughout the year, but the selection of Ready To Go tours varies with the seasons. Some tours are only available during certain times of the year.

What happens if the weather is bad?
Weather is part of experiencing the archipelago. Wind, rain, sunshine, snow and ice all give it a different character. Routes are adapted to the conditions of the day, always with safety and comfort in mind. If a tour needs to be rescheduled or cancelled due to the weather, I will contact you as soon as possible.

Do we stay in the boat during the whole tour?
No. On our island-hopping tours, the boat is used to travel between different stops where we go ashore and explore. Other tours have different programmes, so check the individual tour description for details.

What should I wear?
Dress for the weather. A windproof jacket is always a good idea, as conditions can vary in the archipelago. The boat offers shelter from the weather and is heated when needed.

Where do the tours depart from?
Ready To Go tours depart from the East Harbour in Mariehamn. The departure point for a Private Tour can be arranged according to the tour and your plans.

What languages are the tours available in?
Guiding and service are available in English, Finnish and Swedish.

Do I need any boating experience?
No. You don’t need any previous boating experience or special knowledge of the archipelago. Curiosity is enough.

Are life jackets provided?
Yes. Life jackets are provided and worn while travelling by boat.

How and when do I pay?
Payment is made after the tour on board the boat. You can pay by card on board. For business customers, payment by invoice can also be arranged.

Can I get seasick?

It is possible, but I have not yet had a passenger get seasick on a tour. We usually spend relatively short periods at a time in the boat, and the type of boat we use also makes a difference. If you are concerned about seasickness, just let me know before the tour.

Is there a minimum number of passengers for a tour?
It depends on the tour. Ready To Go departures usually require a minimum of two passengers, but this can vary. Please check the individual tour description for the minimum number of passengers that applies to your tour.
